Kari has a BFA in Interior Design from Cal State University Long Beach and a minor in Art History. She previously graduated from ORT Institute as a Senior Master Builder.
While still in college, Kari got interested in studying the living conditions of senior citizens, people with dementia, and disabilities. She got a certificate in Gerontology and is now pursuing a Master's degree in Gerontology at CSULB.
As a designer, Kari has been able to enhance her understanding of varied populations' needs by taking classes in Product Design, Human Experience Social Design Seminar, and Research Methods for Inclusive UX Design. As a result, she has the knowledge and ability to spark a creative process that develops into pragmatic strategies and solutions. Research for Evidence-Based Design is at the core of Kari's leading work at Studio Terrada.
